Sea Kayak Training Weekend

on Chincoteague Island, Virginia

Please let us know if you are interested

This will be a long weekend that combines training, touring and plain old relaxation, spent in a fantastic location at the best time of the year. We’ll be staying at a spacious beach house right next to the water in Chincoteague and use that as our base of operations for three days and three nights (or shorter if you wish).

The training will meet the needs of people at various levels of kayaking skills, since we’ll be offering a menu of training/touring options from which to select.   We’ll provide formal ACA Level 2 and 3 courses on protected waters. Saturday will be devoted to training and assessing student skill levels.  On Sunday, training continues with the option  to learn or hone their surf skills in our exciting Surf Zone course.  For those wanting to spend their Sunday in a more leisurely way, there will be an opportunity to independently tour the bays, marshes, islands and beaches of Chincoteague and Assateague.  Or, you can just go to the beach! Finally, instead of fighting Sunday night traffic, you can hang out an extra night and paddle with us on Monday morning before heading home.
