Do you have some place you've been
wanting to kayak but don't want to go it alone? Or perhaps your group just wants
the comfort and safety of knowing they are being expertly guided by ACA
Certified kayak instructors. Whatever the reason, we know the waters of the
Chesapeake Bay and Cape Cod areas and have been paddling them for over a decade.
We can design a day trip or multiple night expedition around your destination
requirements or you can try one of our already planned training tours like the
ones described below. We offer kayak training as part of all our 4 hour or
longer trips at no additional charge.
A training tour is a great alternative for those who
want to develop their skills at a more leisurely pace and enjoy taking in the sites while you
learn.
- Smith Island
Training Tour
- Join us as we spend the weekend exploring the area that so
captivated Captain John Smith when he first sailed these waters 400
years ago. Our route will see us paddling one of the most intriguing and
wildlife-filled island of the lower Chesapeake, Smith Island.

- Chincoteague
Island Training Tour
- This will be a long weekend that combines training, touring and
plain old relaxation, spent in a fantastic location at the best time of
the year. We’ll be staying at a
spacious
beach house right next to the water in Chincoteague Island, Virgina.

- Janes Island
Training Tour
- Join us on the Chesapeake Bay for an intensive weekend of skill
development and an opportunity to apply those skills to a “real life”
situation - a circumnavigation of Janes Island State Park.
Kayaktraining.com is offering this course for those who are ready to
take the next step beyond basic kayak training. We’ll work with you in
small groups to help you develop or refine your intermediate-level
skills; help you understand how to integrate your new skills into sea
kayak touring trips; and do it all in the magical setting of Janes
Island State Park on Maryland’s Eastern shore.

- Lighthouse / Island Tour

Starting in historic Havre de Grace, this tour will entail visiting
various islands and lighthouses. This tour was
featured at a REI clinic entitled "Where to Kayak &
How to Get There".

Hopping Adventure

This is a fun training tour that starts at Rocky Point State
Park and visits the beaches of Pleasure & Hart-Miller Islands.
